Latif Nasser is the director of research at Radiolab, where he has reported on such disparate topics as culture-bound illnesses, snowflake photography, sinking islands and 16th-century automata. He has a PhD. from Harvard’s rocking history of science department, where he spent four years spelunking in dusty archives and interviewing nonagenarians to research his dissertation on ‘the tanganyika laughter epidemic of 1962.’ He lives in New York city.
